Dorothy J. Bergstrom, 85, of Menominee passed away Friday, July 26 at Rennes Health Center-East, Peshtigo.
Born on July 25, 1928 in Marinette to the late Bernard and Theresea (Sztka) Szymik, she married Harold Bergstrom on March 1, 1952 in Menominee. He preceded her in death April 17, 1980.
After raising her children she worked as a cook at Menominee County Lloyd Hospital, Schloegels, Changs and Alexanders. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Risa Bergstrom and Mary Kay (Mark Krueger) Bergstrom, both of Menominee; three sons, Steve (Audrey) Bergstrom and Harold (Amy) Bergstrom, jr., both of Marinette and Jon (Cheryl) Bergstrom of River Forest, Ill. and 10 grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristen Ankney; a son, Robert; four brothers and a sister.
Friends called at Bethel Lutheran Church, Menominee on Tuesday, July 30 from 4 p.m. until time of funeral services at 6 p.m. with Rev. Scott Ehle officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home Menominee assisted the family.
