Robert G. Bergstrom, 68, of Neenah passed away Monday, July 29 after a four year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Marinette on Nov. 6, 1944, the son of the late George and Evelyn Bergstrom he grew up in Menominee and was happy to be a Yooper.
After working at WAGN radio in Menominee, he joined the Naval Reserve and served his Navy time in Norfolk, Va. He married Ardyth Tulip on June 29, 1968. He graduated from UW-Green Bay, Magna Cum Laude, then worked at WISN radio in Milwaukee and later moved to Neenah where he worked for Fox Valley Water Quality Planning Agency. He was also employed by Marathon Engineers and Architects, Raytheon and Winsert. A sportsman, he enjoyed fishing, duck and deer hunting, sporting clays and boating on Lake Winnebago. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling through the United States and Europe, but his greatest joy was his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Ardyth; two sons, Jason (Leah) and Steven (Shannon); three grandsons and another grandchild to be born February 2014; two sisters, Barbara (John) Hartz and Betty (Tom) Ennis and a brother-in-law, Dr. Richard (Ann) Tulip.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1 at Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah with a brief service to follow.
