Pearl Vanden Langenberg
Pearl Vanden Langenberg, 92, of Kelly Lake, Suring, formerly of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24 at Woodland Village Nursing Home in Suring.
The daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette (Dennisen) Parins was born Sept. 3, 1920 in Green Bay and graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1937. She married Harvey Vanden Langenberg on Sept. 28, 1940 and the couple enjoyed over 62 years of marriage until he preceded her in death in 2003.
She worked as a bookkeeper at Kelly Photo in Green Bay after raising her family. A longtime member of the Bellevue VFW 9677 Ladies' Auxiliary, she also served as president. After retiring in 1982 to the home they built at Kelly Lake, she was an active member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Klondike, the Altar Rosary Society and volunteered at Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls.
The happiest times of her life were the years she spent at Kelly Lake enjoying her family, especially her nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, singing in the St. Wenceslaus choir, participating in church activities, assisting with bookkeeping at St. Wenceslaus and traveling with her family and friends.
She is survived by four children, Judy (Michael) Strebel and Joan (Robert) Patterson, both of Kelly Lake, David (Linda) Van of Coleman and Ellen (Gary) Rentmeester of Green Bay; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include two brothers, Robert (Beth) Parins and Lloyd Parins; four sisters, Annette (Shelby Guilette) Watkins, Pauline (Bucky) McAbee, Cece (Pat) Blaser and Mary (Joe) Brusky; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Arnie and Bernice Rentmeester, Raphael and Ida Vanden Langenberg, Ron and Jeanne Vanden Langenberg, Eloise VanderKelen, Betty Vanden Langenberg, Barb Vanden Langenberg and Lorraine Vanden Langenberg and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, Harvey, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Gertrude Parins; four siblings, Irvin Parins, Betty (Marv) Stone, Peter Parins and Kathy Ashbaugh and sisters-and brothers-in-law, Howard and Jan Vanden Langenberg, Ray and Rosella Lamal, Lorraine and Orland Nick, Lloyd, Marvin and Ken Vanden Langenberg and Audrey Parins.
Family and friends called at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring on Sunday, July 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a Memorial Mass with Rev. Dean Dombroski officiating. The family was assisted by Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman.
