THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Marilyn Hazel Baldwin, 73, of Cecil passed away Friday, Aug. 23rd at the Jack and Engrid Meng Unity Hospice Residence after a valiant fight with leukemia. Her family were by her side.
Born Jan. 20, 1940 in California, Pa., to the late Dallas and Gertrude Martin, she was raised in Grover and graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1958. She married Macklyn Baldwin Jan. 30, 1960 in Stiles and they celebrated 53 years of marriage this year. She lived in Oconto Falls and Stiles before moving to Cecil and worked as an instructional aide for the Oconto Falls School District for 31 years.
She loved time with her family, lunches with her friends, annual family vacations, road trips with her husband, cooking and fishing. She was a woman of great wit with a great personality touching the lives of many with her strength and faith. She was an inspiration and comfort to her loved ones accepting Gods plan during this difficult time. She was a loving and wonderful wife, mom, nanny and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Mack; two daughters, Tamara Brown, Green Bay; Jackie (Rick) Stachowicz, Appleton; a son, Mike (Brenda) Baldwin, Oshkosh; a son-in-law, Randy Heise, Lena; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren, a sister Sarah (Norman) Baldwin, Lena; a brother Dallas (Anne) Martin, Crivitz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Loren and Brenda Baldwin, Darwyn and Dee Baldwin, Joe and Carol Baldwin, Karla Baldwin, Wayne Trudell, Greg Meese, Vic Ausloos and Jerry Hart; many nieces, nephews, friends and very special friends and vacation partners, Darold and Suzy Wieting.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Connie Heise; her parents, Dallas and Gertrude Martin; in-laws, Mike and Helen Baldwin; a sister, Dalene Hart, a brother, Doug Martin; sisters-in-law, Linda Ausloos, Darlene Meese and Sandy Trudell.
Friends and relatives may call at the Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Oconto, Friday, Aug. 30th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, Aug. 31st at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at First American Lutheran Church, Oconto at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mary Zupansic officiating. She will be placed to rest at Abrams/Stiles Cemetery.
