Robert L. Burtts, 56, of Menominee, Mich. passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at home after a long battle of MS, with family by his side .
Born Jan. 6, 1957 in Spokane, Wash., to the late Lawrence and Joyce (Westbrook) Burtts, he graduated from Menominee High School and in 1978, married Carrie Cairns in Menominee.
He served his country proudly in the United States Army then returned home to Menominee and worked at Silvan Industries as a sandblaster until his illness. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie of 36 years, a daughter Becky (Nick Lesperance) Burtts of Menominee; two sons, Robert (Heather Kons) Burtts jr. and Jason Beattie both of Menominee; five grandchildren; two sisters, Sharron (David) Baxter of Menominee and Cindy Crissman of Marinette; two brothers, Terry Burtts of Green Bay and Randy Burtts of Crivitz and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Scotty and one brother Todd.
A memorial gathering was held on Sunday, Sept. 8, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at his house in Menominee. The Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home assisted the family.
