Marcella B. Vassal
Marcella B. Vassal, 91, of Crivitz passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, at NEW Care Convalescent Center.
Born on June 2, 1922, to the late Jess and Beatrice (Clow) Cheshier in Rock Falls, Ill., she graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago. She furthered her education at Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing and worked as an LPN for over 25 years.
On Dec. 25, 1942, she married Chris Vassal in Washington and he preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1971. She moved to the area four years ago to be closer to her children and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed ballroom dancing.
She is survived by two sons, John (Anne) Vassal of Crete, Ill. and Chris Vassal of Green Bay; a daughter, Carol (Bob) Cole of Porterfield; a brother, Lehman Chesier of LaGrange, Ill; seven grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chris.
Private family services were held with Thielen Funeral Home assisting the family.
