Lauerman Store is Topic of Loomis Historical Meet
The Loomis Historical Society will meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Town of Lake Hall. Following the business meeting, Marinette native, Michael Leannah, will present a program on the Lauerman Brothers Store. A school teacher, he wrote a book entitled, Something for Everyone. The book is filled with accounts of the store and the people who worked there. He worked at Lauermans as a teenager. His parents, as well as his brothers and sisters, were also employed there. The lunch will be provided by Peggy Dzurick and Linda Blickhahn. Visitors are welcome to attend.
Members are also reminded of Loomis Day on Saturday noon, Sept. 28 at the Town of Lake Hall. There will be a potluck picnic and those attending should bring a dish to pass and their own tableware. Beverages will be provided. Bill Jamerson will present a program on life in the logging camps. Invited a friend or neighbor to also attend. For more information call Pat Kaufman at 715-854-2997.
