Blood Drive in Wausaukee Sept. 23
A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held Monday, Sept. 23rd at the Wausaukee High School cafetorium from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m., sponsored by the Leos and Lions Clubs of Wausaukee.
Again college scholarships will be given to 2014 graduating seniors. Every pint counts toward money for next year's graduates. For every 30 pints, $250 is realized.
To make an appointment call Barb at 715-759-5747 or 715-927-5213. They also will have aphaeresis donations where it takes a little longer but what is given counts as two pints. Red blood cells are separated and plasma is returned to donor.
Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of fluids during the days before donating. Every unit of blood is used for three or more patients.
Healthy donors may give every 56 days or 8 weeks. Donors may give in both Wausaukee and Crivitz all year round. Persons must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds and students age 16 may give blood with a form signed by their parents.
Anyone who would like to help with the drive also call Barb. Help is needed in loading, escorting donors, canteen, registration, setting up and taking down, and bringing bars and cookies. Persons may also call for an appointment to
