Joseph Anthony Schulz
Joseph Anthony Schulz, 72, of Hudson, formerly of Peshtigo, passed away Sept. 21 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond.
Born Dec. 1, 1940 in Chicago, Ill., son of Joseph and Mary Schulz, he served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1961. He married his wife, Beverly in 1961 and was blessed with two children, Donna and Jeff. He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad where he worked for many years.
He had a great appreciation for the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting. A lifetime member of the NRA, American Legion and Hudson Rod, Gun, and Archery Club, Inc., he taught hunters safety course for over 25 years. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He will remain in the hearts of his loving wife of 52 years, Beverly; two children, Donna Schulz of Hudson and Jeff (Jamie) Schulz of Clear Lake; three grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Dorjath of Illinois; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Nick and John Schulz; three nephews: Nick, Norbert and Bobby; a niece, Ann Marie and a grandson, David.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at the OConnell Family Funeral Home at Hudson with service to his country honored immediately following the service. A gathering of family and friends will follow from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. The OConnell Family Funeral Home of Hudson is assisting the family with arrangements.
