Kindergartners Visit Coleman Fire Department
Curt Tisler, Patz National Sales Manager and volunteer firefighter for the Coleman Fire Department hosted kindergarten tours last week in recognition of Fire Prevention Week.
Nearly 60 five-year old students, teachers and several chaperones from the public and private schools learned how the fire trucks work and the special tools firefighters use to put out fires, find people that may be trapped or hurt in the fire and special lights used to help helicopters find a safe place to land near the fire.
Students were able to climb into the truck and explore the cab and were invited to try on a firefighter jacket and helmet.
