Nicholas H. Kohel
Nicholas Harold Kohel, 65, passed away Thursday, Oct. 24 at his home in Laughlin, Nv., after a 17 month battle with cancer.
Born Feb. 29, 1948, he grew up in Menominee and graduated from Menominee High School in 1966. He served in Vietnam for 18 months from 1968-1969. He worked in Florida as a heavy equipment operator, then moved to Colorado and retired from TARCO Construction in February 2010 and resided in Laughlin. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid card player.
He is survived by Lisa Whittaker (significant other and caregiver), of Laughlin, Nv.; two sisters, Linda (Brad) Smiley, of Denver, Co. and Denise Ruleau, of Marinette; a brother, Richard (Jill) Kohel, of Menominee, an aunt, Doris Spaude, of Menominee and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lorraine Kohel.
