Ida V. Chacko-Ostman
Ida V. Chacko-Ostman, 83, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30 with her family by her side.
Born to the late Clarence and Mabel Solberg on July 30, 1930 in New York City, NY, she married Joseph Chacko and they resided in New Jersey before relocating to Cape Coral, Fla. in 1976.
She and her husband owned several restaurants prior to moving to Cape Coral. She then pursued a career as a successful Real Estate Broker, being named to the Century 21 $10-Million club. An active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, she loved to travel, especially to her favorite locations in Sweden and Norway.
She is survived by five daughters, Joanne (Tom Ries), of Peshtigo, Donna (Vincent) Meola, Mary Minor, Ida Hudak and Roseanne Chacko; two sons, William (Sandra) Eldridge and Raymond Eldridge; a brother, Franklin (Beverly) Solberg, of Lexington, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, June Christine Eldridge.
Visitation was held Nov. 3 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Fuller Metz Funeral Home, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. at St Andrew Catholic Church, immediately followed by burial at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
