THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Barbara Bette Rosenthal, 84, of Oconto passed away Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Oconto Hospital.
Born Sept. 13, 1929 to the late Clarence and Barbara (Ganter) Newbury, she married Francis Red Rosenthal on Aug. 28, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2001.
For over 30 years, she operated Royal Manor Boarding house and had volunteered for the Commission on Aging. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and bingo and was a member of the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (James) Mondloch, Oconto; two sons, Rodney Rusty (Christine) Rosenthal, Texas and Greg Rosenthal, Land O Lakes; a brother, Clarence Newbury, Peshtigo; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Toby Newbury and sister-in-law, Helen Newbury.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Rev. Mary Zupansic will officiate with burial at the Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
