THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Carl J. Desotell
Baby Carl Jeremy Desotell, 19 months old, passed away Nov. 8 in his parent's arms after a battle with cancer.
Born April 2, 2012, his brief life was filled with love, joy, and laughter. He loved playing with his sister and snuggling with his parents. He found comfort in music, was delighted in being tickled and enjoyed hammers, bubbles, blue blankets, the Wonder Pets, the Avengers, and the Minions from Despicable Me. He loved to play peek-a-boo, and lit up when his daddy played his guitar. His strength and spirit brought light and inspiration to everyone he met.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Bri; his sister, Michaela; grandparents, Cathy Blystone, Laurie and Phil Tousley and Mike Desotell; godparents: Uncle Jer and Aunt Jen Peters; cousins, Celia and Daniel; uncle, Brad Desotell; great-grandparents, Don and Mickie Hanzek, Ken and Doris Tousley, Mary Peters, Theresa Desotell and Nancy Blystone; other best friends, nurses, Kirsten Hensler and Amanda Chiti and extended family and friends too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Daniel Peters and his great-grandfathers, Carl Blystone, William Desotell and Thomas Peters.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 14 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City, Mich. Family will welcome friends on Friday, Nov. 15 from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. at Tawas United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jeff Nelson presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts to the Child Life Program at Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, the Oscoda United Methodist Church or the Carl Desotell Memorial Fund.
