Doris M. Morois, 91, of Marinette, passed away at Rennes Health Care Center-East on Friday, Nov. 8.
Born Sept. 16, 1922, in Menominee to Joe and Mae Kapitz (Kowalski), she attended Menominee High School and married Harold Nowakowski on June 7, 1941 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Menominee. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1960. She then married Fred Morois on June 16, 1962 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marinette and he died on May 19, 1996.
Active in St. Joseph Altar Society and the Craft Group, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and at the trailer and land on the Green Bay shores of Lake Michigan where she loved to clean the beach. She could talk with anyone, was the neighborhood watch lady, kept an immaculate house, enjoyed providing for her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Fran (Gabi) Nowakowski, Bonnie (Jerry, Sr.) Haines, Howie (Kathy) Morois and Mary Morois; six grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mirt Kaufman, Judy (Ralph) Trautner, Delores (Steve) LaPorte and Dorothy (Gene) Maas; a brother, Tom Kowalski; four sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John, Fran, and Bob Kowalski.
Friends called at Thielen Funeral home in Marinette on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 4 p.m. until time of funeral services at 6:15 p.m with a light meal to follow. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
