THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Vivian I. Stadtmueller
Vivian Irene (Ruleau) Stadtmueller, 85, passed away on Nov. 10.
Born April 21, 1928, to Robert and Ruth Ruleau in Menominee, the family moved to Cedar River when she was five and lived there until she graduated from high school, then relocated to Neenah to work in 1947. She met Richard Stadtmueller at the boarding house she was staying at and they married Sept. 24, 1949. The couple lived in Neenah until 1985 when they fulfilled a life-long dream of building their retirement home on the Chain O' Lakes in Waupaca. Living near water was always a love of hers with her childhood spent on the shores of Green Bay and nearly 64 years at the lake in Waupaca. Time spent there was precious to her whether it was swimming, skiing and boating in the summer or cross-country skiing and skating in the winter. She passed her love of water to her children and grandchildren.
Her family will cherish the good times they had together at the lake, dinners, pontoon boat rides, swimming, campfires, Christmas in Waupaca and more. An active member of the Parfreyville United Methodist Church she always had a warm smile and kind words for everyone and will be missed by many.
Her husband of 64 years, Richard, survives along with children, Randy (Sue), Zittau, Rick (Vicky Johnson), and Cheryl (Joe) Wiliamson, all of Neenah; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Also surviving are sisters, Shirley (Roland) Becker, Betty (Karl) Gilbert, Margie (Charles) Chaltry and Barb (Jon) Nelson and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Louis and four sisters, Rose, Carol, Luella and Judy.
Visitation will be held at Parfreyville United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, with Rev. Blackburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name. Maple Crest Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
