Marcella W. Buchman
Marcella Winnie Buchman, 99, of Marinette passed away on Friday, Nov. 22 at the Renaissance.
Born on Dec. 29, 1913 in Marinette to Theodore and Augusta Winnekins,
she graduated from Marinette High School in 1932 and later St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Peoria, Ill. In 1949, she married Henry C. Buchman. He preceded her in death in 1984.
She worked at both Marinette General and Menominee County Lloyd Hospitals. She later attended the University of Minnesota and Marquette University to study Public Health and was the Marinette City Public Health Nurse for over 20 years. A member of the American Nurses Association, Wisconsin Public Health Association and the areas Retired Nurses Club, she was also a member of Holy Family Parish, Altar Society and the Apostolate of Our Lady of Fatima.
She is survived by nephews, Linwood (Joyce) Winnekins and Carl (Tina) Winnekins; a niece, Marcie Schubert and many more nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry and brothers, Elmer and Earl Winnekins.
Friends called at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family ParishOur Lady of Lourdes Church, Taylor Street. Fr. Jack Harper officiated with burial in Forest Home Cemetery, Marinette.
