Great Lakes Tools Buys Firm In Idaho
Great Lakes Custom Tool Mfg., Inc., Peshtigo, has purchased AAA Tool & Cutter Grinding, Inc., in Orofino, Idaho. Russ Martin and his son, Ray Martin, owner of the Peshtigo firm purchased the new business from Devon Bunyan and Lorelle Lambert.
AAA Tool & Cutting Grinding LLC manufactures instruments and tools custom made for medical supply companies, aeronautics and other specialized fields. It also sharpens and re-tips tools purchased from other sources.
AAA has eight employees and since the purchase by Great Lakes three additional persons have been hired. Currently underway are plans to build a new facility past the Orofino High School on Highway 7 and to hire more employees.
AAA was founded in 1953 in Los Angeles, Calif. and sold to Devon Bunyan in 1979 and then moved to Orofino.
Great Lakes was started in 1979 and was known as Great Lakes Carbide Tool until 2006 when the name was changed to Great Lakes Custom Tool, Mfg., Inc. It manufactures cutting tools for the woodworking and metalworking industries. The firm is now located in the Peshtigo Industrial Park in a new and modern facility employing over 60 workers.
