Marinette Christmas Parade Events Dec. 7
The Marinette Fire Department will host a Christmas Open House from 11 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, Dec. 7th, prior to the Marinette Christmas Parade. Santa will arrive at the fire station to greet the families and children before he climbs atop the fire engine for the parade. There will be an opportunity to tour the fire station and persons are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to be given to a local charity.
The Marinette County Board of Realtors will collect Toys For Tots with their parade entry along the route down Pierce Avenue. Those able to bring a new unwrapped toy to be given to children on Christmas morning are encouraged to participate. Those still wishing to enter the parade maycan call Lori at 715-732-6102.
The parade will start at 1 pm and proceed from Thomas Street to Pierce Avenue down to Stephenson Street. Judging will take place along the route, and Santa will continue his trip to the Stephenson Library where he will visit again and read to the children. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served by the Friends of the Library and librarians will assist in a simple Christmas craft for the children to take home.
The Marinette Welcome Center Open House will also take place from 1 to 3 pm. Live music from the Senior Moments, a chance to win door prizes from area businesses and refreshments from the Marinette Womans Club will provide a festive event. Santa will cross the foot bridge at approximately 3 pm to light the City of Marinette Christmas tree with Mayor Denise Ruleau to complete the celebration.
