Mary C. Konyn
Mary C. Konyn, 84, of Menominee passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at their winter home in Florida.
Born Sept. 5, 1929, to the late Frank and Mary (Roskos) Hass in Marinette, she graduated from Marinette High School in 1947 and then moved to Texas to be near her sister and work as a stenographer. She returned to this area to work at Scott Paper where she was emoloyed for nine years. She married Bernard Ben Konyn July 18, 1987 at St. Anthony's Church and worked at Menominee County Health Board as an administrative assistant, retiring in 1994. A member of Holy Spirit Church, she was involved in ladies groups.
She is survived by her husband, Ben; two step sons, Scott Konyn, of Green Bay and Mark (Christine) Konyn, of Cudahy; three brothers, Donald (Jane) Hass, Francis Hass and Richard (Joan) Hass; two sisters, Margaret (George) Burby, of Green Bay and Lucille (Jerry) Hale, of Morris, Ill.; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Ringo Hass and two nephews, John Burby and Francis Hass Jr.
Visitation was held at Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette from 4 p.m. until time of vigil prayer service at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9 with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. Visitation continued on Tuesday Dec. 10 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at 11 a.m. for the repose of her soul at Holy Spirit Church. Fr. Mark McQuesten presided with burial in Forest Home Cemetery.
