Blood Drive in Wausaukee
Issue Date: December 12, 2013
The Wausaukee Lions and Leos will hold a Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, Dec. 16 at the Wausaukee School Auditorium from 12:30 to 5:30 pm. Donors will help students raise scholarship money for 2014 graduating. Last year $1,500 went to graduating seniors. One donation can save many lives.
To make an appointment call Barb at 715-759-5747 or 715-927-5213. They will also have aphaeresis donations where it takes a little longer, but what is donated counts as two pints. Red blood cells are separated and donors are given plasma back. Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of fluids during the days before donating. People on medications can also give by calling and checking out or attend the drive to be cleared. Diabetics are also able to give blood. This drive will not interfere with the rotation between Crivitz and Wausaukee. Persons can go to either one Dec. 16 in Wausaukee or Dec. 2 drive in Crivitz.
Anyone who would like to donate cookies, bars, etc. or work the day of the drive also call Barb.
