THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Issue Date: December 26, 2013
Helen Bootsie (Dulak) LeBoeuf, 96, passed away Monday, Dec. 16.
Born Dec. 22, 1916 in Peshtigo to the late Thomas and Sophie (Twork) Dulak, she married Oscar LeBoeuf in 1955. He preceded her in death in 1975. Together they had 6 step-children, Val, Gordon, Jack, Dick, Don and Betty.
She was co-owner of the Menominee Nursing Home for many years and her passion was taking care of the sick and elderly. Even while in Pinecrest, she was more concerned about the needs and wants of her co-patients than her needs. She was a genuine, passionate, sincere, benevolent person. While living in Banat, her front door was always open for a cup of coffee to passerby. She enjoyed talking and telling a good story while peeling apples, preparing food or canning pickles and listening to the police scanner. She peeled the thinnest potato peels that you were able to read the newspaper through the peelings. She was known by many as the the Mayor of Banat.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Betty and many nieces and nephews that she taught life 's lessons to, like, how to cob apples and how to violate deer.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary, Josephine and Anna and six brothers, Walter, John, Tom, Joe, Stanley and Frank.
In keeping with her wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. There will be a life celebration gathering this summer in her honor. Those that would like to attend can send a card with name and address to Helen LeBoeuf, c/o Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, P.O. Box 335, Stephenson, MI 49887.
