Alvin J. Sandberg
Alvin John Sandberg, 95, of Peshtigo, passed away Dec. 22 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born Dec. 10, 1918, son of the late John T. and Harriet (Johnston) Sandberg, he married the former Doris Krutz on June 17, 1944 in Marinette. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2002.
He was an avid Packer and Brewer fan and enjoyed traveling and reading. A lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, he operated the homestead farm in the Porterfield area for over 40 years. After retiring, he moved to Peshtigo.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Sandberg, of Peshtigo; a sister, Edna Baker, of West Bend and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 27 at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until time of funeral services at 2 p.m., with Pastor John Tesch officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Forest Home Cemetery, Marinette. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his memory.
