H. David Lindbom
H. David Lindbom, 76, of Marinette passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born July 29, 1937 to Nels and Marcella (Vanderfin) Lindbom, he graduated from Marinette High School in 1955 and served in the United States Navy. He continued his education at Northern Michigan University at Marquette where he earned a BA in Administration and an MA at UW-Oshkosh. He married the former Judith Anderle on May 19, 1962. He was principal for 26 years at the Peshtigo Elementary Learning Center.
A member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Elks Club, Ducks Unlimited, Whitetails Unlimited, Caring Hearts in Marinette and Concerned Hearts of Green Bay, he was a proud husband, father, and grandfather and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, music and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He also played in a band with Roy DeGayner and had his own dance band called The Classics.
He is survived by his wife Judith; two daughters, Lora Lindbom, of Marinette and Lisa (Tim) Troxell, of Wausaukee; two sons, Jeff (Carol) Lindbom, of Wausaukee and Jay Lindbom, of Peshtigo; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Kathy (Bob) Deschaine and Sue (Chet) Closson, both of Marinette; a brother, Robert (Naomi) Lindbom and many other family members and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Alfred LaCombe and a sister, Helen Forton.
Visitation was held at Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee on Monday, Jan. 6 from 3 p.m. until time of the Vigil prayer service at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiating. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
