Bernice T. Schoedel
Bernice T. Schoedel, 94, of Shawano passed away Thursday, Jan. 9 at an area nursing home.
Born Dec. 9, 1919, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late George and Thecla (Lemberger) Meiller, she married Donald Schoedel on Oct. 17, 1953 in Milwaukee. The couple made their home in the Shawano area and they were both involved with the county 4-H program and were members of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. She worked as a stenographer at the Shawano County Courthouse for several years.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Karen (Leo) Trepes, of Crivitz, Kathy Butcher, of Mission, Tx. and Jane Schoedel, of West Bend; a nephew, of Watertown; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don on June 27, 2008; her parents and two brothers, Oliver (Evelyn) Meiller and George (Florence) Meiller Jr.
Visitation was held at the chapel in Milwaukee from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at Pinelawn Memorial Park Chapel in Milwaukee. Rev. Tom Griffey officiated with burial in Pinelawn Cemetery. Milwaukee. Donations can be made in her name to the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano assisted the family with arrangements.
