Stanley H. Johnson
Stanley H. Johnson, 91, of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Menominee Care Center.
Born June 10, 1922 in Stephenson, Mi., to the late Harry and Sarah (Hall) Johnson, he married the former Evelyn Dellies on Oct. 6, 1948. She preceded him in death on July 31, 1972. He was a farmer, plumber's assistant, worked at L.E. Jones and also in the woods.
He enjoyed playing pool, cards with family and friends, the outdoors and going to Farmers Union meetings. After retiring he also enjoyed baking and cooking for his family for holidays and get togethers, sometimes for the whole weekend with family staying at his home. Most of all spending time with family is what he enjoyed most.
Survivors include his daughters, Jolene (Dennis) Olson, of Menomonee Falls, Sheryl (Stanford) Farr, of Menominee, Emily (Scott) Johnson-Squire, of Marinette, and Jayne Sandahl, of Stephenson; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Hoeffler, Joyce Tirpak and Grace Hoida, all of Stephenson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Scott Sandahl; a sister, Shirley Schlenvogt and a brother, Ivan Johnson.
Family and friends called at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Wednesday Jan. 29 after 3 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 6 p.m. with Rev. Cori Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery in the spring.
