Hazel I. Meyers
Hazel Irene (Bancroft) Meyers, 102, of Marinette passed away Friday evening, Jan. 24, at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born Sept. 9, 1911 in the Town of Grover to Arthur and Cora (Waterworth) Bancroft, she resided in this area all her life and attended school in Marinette. She married Louis P. Meyers on Aug. 24, 1933 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1966.
She devoted her life to her family, homemaking and gardening. She enjoyed walking, playing cards, especially pinochle and in later years played bingo. A longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Marinette, she was an active member of the Marinette Senior Center.
She is survived by a son, Gerald (Jeanette) Meyers, of Menominee; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers; two sisters; a son and a great-granddaughter.
Friends called at First United Methodist Church in Marinette from 2 p.m. until time of funeral services at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
