Ruth M. (Ahearn) Metivier, 80 of Menominee, Mi., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Brewster Village in Appleton.
Born Feb. 21, 1933 in Menominee to the late Cornelius and Margaret (Todish) Ahearn, she married Darrell Metivier there on Aug. 20, 1955. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1996.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling and golfing, but spending time with her family and grandchildren is what she loved the most. An involved member of Resurrection Catholic Church, she was very passionate about her family, home and church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary (Joseph) Markovicz, of Spring Lake, Mi.; three sons, Thomas (Barbara), of Appleton, Michael, of Rapid River, Mi. and Timothy (Luisa), of Leavenworth, Ks.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Cornelius Bud (Marge) Ahearn, of Hastings, Mi.; a brother-in-law, Paul Payant, of West Bend; sisters-in-law, Marie Ahearn, of Menominee and Patricia Metivier, of Escanaba and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Mickey Payant and a brother, Dennis Ahearn.
Visitation will be held at Anderson Kell Funeral Home, Menominee on Wednesday, Feb. 5, after 4 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., with Deacon Vince Beckley presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church with Father Mark McQuesten presiding. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
