Judy Thayer, 73, of Marinette, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30 at her home with her family by her side.
Born Nov. 2, 1940 in Manistique, Mi., daughter of John and Mae (Linden) Carney, she married Theron (Terry) Thayer on Dec. 21, 1957. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2002.
She is survived by children, Steven (Mary) Thayer, of Marshfield, Terri (Dan) McVane, Sally (the late Larry) Braley and Todd (Nicole) Thayer, all of Marinette, Susan (Forest) Hedglen of Manistique, John (Holly) Thayer, of Coleman and Tracy (Jason) Ellie, of Peshtigo; a step-son, Terry (Tammy) St. John, of Manistique; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, with two more expected; sisters, Laura Riley, of Marinette, Carol (Ron) Haberstitch of Genoa City and Janet Cramer of Howell, Mi.; brothers, Robert (Pete) Carney and James Carney, both of Manistique; brothers-in-law, Don Aldrich, of Manistique and Don (Annette) Thayer, of Kingsford and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Terry, she was preceded in death by grandchildren, Theresa Hedglen, Jacob Thayer and Angela Hedglen; a great-grandson, Landon Dimmer; sisters, Doris (George) Geirke, Donna (Jerry) Johnson, Elaine Aldrich and Ila (Tom) Blake and a step-grandson, Craig St. John.
Friends and family called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Sunday, Feb. 2 from noon until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. with Chaplain Bob Nooker of Unity Hospice officiating. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery.
