THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Joseph Joe Nemec, 88, of Amberg, passed away peacefully Sunday Feb. 9 at Dickinson County Healthcare System.
Born in Wausaukee on Jan. 1, 1926, son of Frank and Alice (Hudek) Nemec, he married his wife Barbara and she preceded him in death Feb. 24, 2008.
He loved to fish and hunt and had a nickname in his younger years as Jolly Joe. He was a simple man who would go out of his way to help others and he will be dearly missed. His life was spent around farming.
He is survived by his two sons, John (Karrie) Nemec and Mark Nemec; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a sister, Maggie (Mel) Pagenkopf.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; a brother, Frank and a sister, Mary.
Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at Messar Roubal Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 13. Interment will be in the Amberg Cemetery. Messar-Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee is assisting the family with arrangements.
