Motkowski Inks Winona State Track Scholarship
Nicole Motkowski, the M-O Conference record holder in the high jump with a 55 mark and a senior at Peshtigo High School, will take her track talents to the collegiate level after inking an athletic scholarship to Division 2 Winona State on Friday, February 7.
Her parents, Craig and Sally, along with older brother Nate were on hand for the signing.
After reaching the WIAA state meet during her sophomore and junior seasons, and bringing home bronze medals each time in the high jump, Motkowski will be looking for bigger and better things during her senior campaign.
My goal is to raise my height. That comes with how fast you go and the angle you come it at, said Motkowski.
Her college coach will be Evan Perkins, former Marinette Marine track assistant, who will also have his daughter Erin joining him and competing for Winona State next year.
We have watched Nicole compete over the years and she seems to excel at the biggest meets. We are hoping to improve her heights at Winona State, coach Perkins said.
Motkowski will be receiving a partial track scholarship as well as academic scholarship at Winona State and will be studying nursing, specializing in neonatal.
