THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Jerome Ron Mayville, 71, of Menominee, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born Sept. 7, 1942 in Menominee to Jerome E. and Mildred (Dellies) Mayville, he resided there most of his life and attended St. Anne Grade School. After graduating from Menominee High School he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving at various duty stations. After service, he returned to Menominee and was employed for many years by the L.E. Jones Company. His first wife, the former Rita Jane Parrett, preceded him in death on May 18, 2011. He married Amalia Quion Vergara in April 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Amalia; two children, Kim (Bruce) Eickmeyer and Michael Mayville; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; five step-children, of the Philippines and a sister, Susan VanDusen.
A Memorial Mass was held at Resurrection Church in Menominee at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17 with Father Mark McQuesten presiding. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
