Clarence E. Larson, 91, of Janesville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15 at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home.
Born in Marinette on Dec. 9, 1922, the son of Godfrey N. and Alvina E. (Bromond) Larson, he graduated from Marinette High School in 1941. After graduation, he sailed on the Great Lakes for two years and then joined the Merchant Marines. He received the Atlantic War Zone Bar, Combat Bar, Victory Bar, Korean War Zone Bar and was honorably discharged. He married the former Frances H. Smith in Marinette on June 16, 1951 and was employed by General Motors for 33 years, retiring in 1985.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances Larson; three children, Clyde H. Larson, of Janesville, Steven D. (Nancy) Larson, of Connecticut and John C. (Julie) Larson, of Chicago; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five siblings, Lorina "Renie" Boneham, William Larson, Margaret Williams, Marilyn Gould and Judy Wendel; numerous nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Eleanor Boelter, Mae Freis and John Larson.
