Marjorie M. Solway
Marjorie M. Solway, 83, formerly of Menominee, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23 at Harbor Haven in Fond du Lac.
Born Feb. 21, 1931 in Ipswich, England, to George and Hilda (Smith) Cook, she was the eldest daughter and played a major role in caregiving for her younger siblings during and after World War II. She married George E. Solway of Menominee on Aug. 2, 1954 at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Ipswich. With her husbands Air Force military career, they resided near his duty stations in England and in America. After his retirement in 1968, they moved to Menominee and continued to make trips to England. She was a loving wife and mother, devoting her life to the care and raising of her family.
She is survived by two children; grandchildren; a great-grandson; a son, Kevin J. Solway, of Crivitz; Kevins daughter, Tiffany L. (Jason) Wesoloski and their son, Callen; and Kevins (Molly Frievalt) son, Ryan Solway; Marjories daughter, Kim L. Schulte-Harness (USAF, Retired) of Eagle River, Alaska; Kims sons, Nickolas Schulte and Korey Schulte, and Kim and Kermits daughter, Sydney Harness; siblings, Diana Cook, Gordon Cook and Pamela (Cook) Corbran.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George and brothers, George and Reginald Reggie Cook.
She will make her final trip home to England with her children to be laid to eternal rest with her parents and family. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home is assisting the family.
