Clifford R. Mauck
Clifford R. Mauck, 73, of Las Cruces, N.M., formerly of Niagara and Sagola, Mi., passed away Friday, Feb. 21 in Las Cruces, N.M.
Born Sept. 17, 1941 in Galion, Oh., son of the late Raymond and Margaret (Eusey) Mauck, he was raised in Iberia, Oh. and graduated from Iberia High school in 1959. He served in the United States Navy and had two tours in the Persian Gulf. He married Joanne Archer on Sept. 17, 1960 in Columbus, Oh. and worked as an Ohio state highway patrolman from 1963 to 1966. The couple moved to Niagara in 1971 where they owned and operated the Mauck Insurance Agency from 1976 until 2004.
He was the past president of the Wisconsin Professional Insurance Agents in 1987 and after retiring, they moved to Bush Lake in Sagola. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Niagara.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne; a son, Craig Mauck; two grandchildren; a sister, Naomi Scales and a sister-in-law, Shirley Swetnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kelly Mauck in 2008; a brother, Arlis Mauck and a twin brother and sister, Arvine and Arleen, who both died at birth.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara. Fr. Matt Settle officiated with burial in the Niagara Cemetery. Donations are appreciated to your local animal shelter or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain assisted the family with arrangements.
