Gerald Jerry Royce, 79, of Pleasant Prairie, formerly of Cecil, passed away Sunday, March 2 at St. Catherines Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie.
Born in White Lake on Sept. 2, 1934, the son of the late Clarence and Rosa Belle (Oliver) Royce, he graduated from White Lake High School and attended Great Lakes Bible Institute. He served in the United States Army for two years and after service he lived and worked in various Wisconsin communities including Lakewood, returning to the Kenosha area in 2011. In 1954, he married Audrey Wilson in White Lake and she preceded him in death on April 16, 1981. On Oct. 16, 1982, he married Norma (Luther) Winslow in Zion, Ill.
He was a medical laboratory technologist at the Zion Clinic and later became a general contractor and then a real estate broker. He loved the Lord and was a volunteer in the SOWER mission projects, was a life member of both the NRA and North American Hunting Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and restoring old farm tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Norma, of Pleasant Prairie; three sons, Gregory G. (Maryann) Royce, of Nekoosa, Michael C. (Patty Wollin) Royce, of LaValle and Scott D. (Missy) Royce, of Mountain; two step-sons, Jerry (Diane) Winslow, of Antioch, Ill. and Tom (Dusica) Winslow, of Pleasant Prairie; two sisters, Irene and Lorraine Royce, both of Kenosha; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5 at the Proko Wall Funeral Home, Green Bay from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 7 at Four Corners Assembly of God in White Lake from 1 p.m. until the time of the services at 3 p.m. Military honors will be provided by White Lake area veterans immediately following the service. Interment will be private at Langlade Cemetery in the Town of Wolf River. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
