Jeannine C. Peterson, 79, of Marinette passed away at home on Tuesday, March 11.
Born Aug. 23, 1934, to the late Fred and Ella (Bublitz) Christiansen in Birnamwood, she married Robert W. Peterson on April 3, 1965 at First Methodist Church in Marinette. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1995. The couple owned and operated the Korn Krib for many years. She was a caregiver for foster children for many years taking in and loving many children all the way into her 70s and received an award in Madison for her many years in foster care. She enjoyed life, reading, maintaining her home and her basset hounds and loved the time she spent with family.
She is survived by a son, Richard (Soani) LeClaire, of Texas; a daughter, Kathy (Jim) Liska, of Crivitz; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and friends.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward LeClaire, a grandson, Gregory G. Sorenson and three brothers, Elwood, Leland, and Harold Christiansen.
As per her wishes, no services will be held and entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum. Thielen Funeral Home assisted the family. Memorials may be sent to the funeral home in her name.
