Lucille H. Gardiner
Lucille H. (Swanson) Gardiner, 96, of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Sunday March 16 at Roubal Care and Rehab Center.
Born June 9, 1917 in Daggett, Mi., to the late Frank and Emelia (Dahlberg) Swanson, she graduated from Stephenson High School in 1936. On March 23, 1936, she married John F. Gardiner in Stephenson. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1977. She owned and operated Gardiner's Mobile Service and Grill, retiring in 1974.
She enjoyed going to Red Hats, crocheting and traveling. A member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, she served as church organist for many years.
She is survived by a son, James (Norma), of Stephenson; a daughter-in-law, Pat Gardiner, of Plymouth; a son-in-law, Pat Francour, of Stephenson; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Jr.; a daughter, Nanci Francour; four sisters and two brothers.
Family and friends may call at St. Stephens Lutheran Church on Thursday, March 20 from 10 a.m. until time of a funeral service at noon, with Pastor Cori Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery in the spring. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
