Ellsworth J. Johnson
Ellsworth J. Ossie Johnson, 87, of Crivitz, formerly of Kaukauna, passed away Saturday, April 12.
Born April 25, 1926, son of Willard and Helena (Van Straten) Johnson, on Aug. 7, 1948, he married Rose Micke at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna and they celebrated 65 years of marriage. He was a truck driver for over 30 years with CW Transport Co. until his retirement.
He was an avid hunter and fly fisherman, enjoyed baseball and was asked to play for the Bluejays. He was involved in his grandchildrens sporting activities and looked forward to hunting trips out west and fishing trips to Canada. He spent his leisure time at the cabin in Crivitz where they made their permanent home four years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; three children, Bonnie (Jeff) Soland-Ott, Bryan (Sherry) Johnson and Cindy (special friend Bob) Krzewina; a daughter-in-law, Barb Johnson; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Sommerfeld and Gladys Bildings; eight sisters-in-law, Patricia Johnson, Martha Dercks, Evelyn Peer, Judy Micke, Marie Micke, Joyce Micke, Joanne Verkuilen and Carol Micke; four brothers-in-law, Clayton Bildings, Harold Micke, Clarence Micke and Kenny Micke.
In addition to his parents, Willard and Helena, he was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Johnson; a grandson, Rory Krzewina; a son-in-law, Jim Soland; a brother, Bill Johnson; a sister, Arlene Dugre and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends called at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna on Tuesday, April 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation continued on Wednesday, April 16 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna from 9:30 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiated with burial in the parish cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
