June Pat Reines, 92, of Marinette, passed away Friday, May 9 at her home at Renaissance Assisted Living in Marinette. Born March 21, 1922 in Traverse City, Michigan to Frank and Mildred Kephart, she graduated from Traverse City High School and attended the Ferris Institute. Following her marriage to William Reines on Oct. 14, 1947, she moved to Marinette. She enjoyed her role as a homemaker and mother. She was active in PTA, a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Democratic Party. Learning new skills, such as upholstery, millinery and rosemaling kept her busy. Since moving to Wisconsin she became an avid fan of Badger and Marinette Marine sports.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Reines; daughters, Ruth Reines and Connie Merkel; a special niece, Janice Claypool; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mildred Kephart; her husband, William; a sister, Joanne Claypool; a brother, Royce Kephart; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested for the William Reines Scholarship Fund at the UW-Marinette Foundation, 750 W. Bay Shore St., Marinette, WI 54143.
