Marion L. Orde
Marion L. Orde, 98, of Green, passed away May 19.
Born Feb. 8, 1916 in Gillett, to Joseph and Ruby Fend, she married Clifford J. Orde on July 28, 1936 at St. Willebrord Catholic Church and they had four sons. They lived in Green Bay and spent their free time at their cottage on Chute Lake. She worked at the old St. Mary Hospital on Webster Ave. as a licensed professional nurse in the surgery department.
She enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with the girls from the surgery department and at age 87, she made her last fishing trip to Canada with her son, Keith and his wife, Melody. She also enjoyed reading and quilting and hand quilted an item for each grandchild.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas, Curtiss and Keith; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Pearl Moudry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; a son, Neil; a brother, Leonard Fend and a great-grandson, Scott.
Visitation was held at St. Francis Xavier Church, De Pere on Friday, May 23, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 11 a.m. Rev. Richard Getchel officiated with burial alongside her husband at Fort Howard Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
