9th Annual Digger Memorial Bike Run
The 9th annual Digger Memorial bike run is Saturday, June 28 starting at Gateway Bar & Grill, Hwy. 141 and W, Crivitz. Registration is a $20 donation and includes a commemorative 2014 feather pin and a chance to win one of several prizes.
First prize is $500 cash, second prize is a 42 inch TV donated by Gateway Bar & Grill, and third prize is a $350 gift certificate for a bike rental donated by Vandervest Harley Davidson of Green Bay and Peshtigo.
Registration is 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and the ride starts at 11 a.m. T-shirts and route maps will be available at registration.
After the ride another event at the Gateway will be the 3rd annual Digger Weenie Bite contest. For $10 per attempt, a rider and partner will have a chance to win the Weenie Bite Custom Trophy designed and donated by Kirk Evans of Milwaukee. This is an entertaining and fun event and persons are invited to attempt it.
There will also be basket and 50/50 cash raffles and rider prizes. All proceeds go to the Jeff Diges Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc., a non-profit (501)(c)(3) providing scholarships to Crivitz High School graduates. The Digger Bike Run is their major funding source. Area businesses from Crivitz and surrounding communities, and individuals have been supported T-shirt and bike run sponsors and participants.
This year, at Crivitz High School graduation on May 17, two $1000 scholarships were presented to Daniel Tomaszewski and Adam Slaby.
All board and event members are volunteers and raise money for scholarships for graduates. All participants and donations are appreciated.
