THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Sharon Sherrie Jensen, 77, passed away Thursday, May 29 at the Maryhill Manor in Niagara. Born in Racine Oct. 21, 1936, to Curtis and Mary (Vikas) Christensen, she married Fred Roy Jensen on July 19, 1959. In her earlier years, she worked at Benson's Bakery, Zahns Department Store and Warren Packaging in Racine.
She was active working with children and was the first woman in Southeast Wisconsin to receive an award called the Silver Beaver for Boy Scouts. A Red Cross Volunteer for many years, she will be known for her excellent cooking but mostly for being an excellent wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Roy; four children, Todd (Laurie), Troy (Kathleen), Timm Jensen and Tara (Michael) Jensen; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, David and a sister, Dawn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jill.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until time of a Funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4 at Beaver American Lutheran Church in Pound. Pastor Chad Anderson officiated with interment in the church cemetery. Donations can be made to the American Lutheran Church Ladies Society. Messar Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee assisted the family with arrangements.
