Ruth M. Skoglund
Ruth M. Skoglund, 74, of Norway, Mi., passed away Wednesday, June 11 at her home.
Born Jan. 3, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., to George and Mary (Fournier) Smith, she grew up in Peoria, Ill. and the Chicago area. She graduated from Peoria High School and attended college to receive her degree in nursing and worked as a nurse in Texas during her younger years. She married James Skoglund on Nov. 15, 1981 in Norway and while living there, she worked at Norway Gravure as a label inspector until her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans.
She is survived by her husband, James; a sister, Virginia Dobbs, Maryhill Manor, Niagara; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, David Mason and Christopher Mason; a daughter, Michelle Pohlson and a grandson, Mark Mason.
Per her wishes, private visitation and services were held. Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain assisted the family.
