Andrew C. Hanson
Andrew C. Hanson, Sr., 93, of Marinette, passed away Friday, June 20 at Rennes Health Center-East in Peshtigo.
Born Dec. 20, 1920 in Porterfield to Seth and Mary Josephine (Meyers) Hanson, he spent his early life in Porterfield and attended Walsh School. He married the former Marie Keller on July 31, 1943 and worked at Badger Paper Mills and Lloyd Manufacturing Co., from where he retired. He was also a dealer for garden equipment and repairs.
He will be remembered as a hard worker and was known as Handy Andy for his ability to fix and repair anything. He enjoyed singing and was a member of the Silvertones at the Senior Center. A longtime member of Peace United Church of Christ in Marinette, he served on the Church Council and sang in the choir.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; four children, Marie (Bill) Wolfe, Andrew C. (Lois) Hanson, Jr., Carl Hanson and Mary (Randy) Wright; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Friends called at Peace United Church of Christ in Marinette from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 23, with Rev. William Clyma officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
