Daniel W. Gropp, 76, of Crivitz, passed away June 20 at his home.
Born Feb. 5, 1938 in Milwaukee, he was a member of the United States Navy and a Korean War Veteran. He traveled the world with the Navy and continued to explore the United States with his family. He moved to Crivitz in 1986 until he and his late wife moved to central Florida, returning to Crivitz in 2007.
He worked at the Wausaukee Club for about 10 years where he met many lifelong friends. An avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, he enjoyed sharing past times with friends and family and also enjoyed spending time playing cards, poker and visiting casinos.
He is survived by a son, William Gropp; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Bahrke; a daughter, Danielle Gropp; a granddaughter, Cecilia Lyman; two grandsons; sisters-in-law Dorothy Harrison and Virginia Kauffman; brother-in law, Eugene Kauffman; many nieces; nephews and close friends, Randy and Donna Boesen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolann; two brothers, James and Thomas Gropp and his mother, Lucille OConnor.
A remembrance service will be held at Stephenson Town Hall, W11280 County Road X, Crivitz on Saturday, June 28 from noon to 5 p.m.
