THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Mary (Lemieux) Wendt, 92, of Loudon, TN, passed away June 24 at Kindred Nursing Home there after a long illness.
A 1939 graduate of Menominee High School she was married for 66 years to George Wendt, also a 1939 Menominee graduate. She lived in Southgate for over 40 years where she was a founding member of St. Pius Catholic Church. During that time she was involved with the St. Pius Choir, taught school and active with Girl Scouts. After retiring with her husband to Fort Myers, FL., pursued her hobbies of golf and bridge.
She was preceded in death by parents, George and Isabelle Lemieux of Menominee, and brother, George Lemieux of Plymouth, MI.
Survivors include her husband, George, and children, Barbara (Dave) Gothard of Loudon, TN, George (Nancy) Wendt of Denton, TX, and Betsy (Mark) Egger of Redondo Beach, CA.; three grandchildren; sister, Eleanor LaValley of Menominee, and many nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
