THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Fred Roy Jensen, 84, passed away Sunday, June 29 at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Born in Racine on Sept. 3, 1929, to Alfred and Asta (Christensen) Jensen, he married Sherrie Christensen on July 19, 1958 and she preceded him in death on May 29, 2014.
He had an active life, enjoying camping at Devils Lake in Wisconsin since 1937, gardening and communicating with everyone he could. He coached baseball, basketball and football and was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He was a nice man, happy and had a great attitude.
He is survived by four children, Todd (Laurie), Troy (Kathleen), Timm and Tara (Michael), all Jensens; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sherrie; and a brother, Glenn.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 13 at Beaver American Lutheran Church in Pound. Pastor Chad Anderson will officiate, followed by full military honors provided by the Crivitz American Legion Post #413. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be used towards providing a meal for veterans. Messar Roubal Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
