Peshtigo Residents Attend International Snowmobile Congress
Gene Thomas and Marie Methavichit from Peshtigo, along with 27 other delegates from the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs, recently participated in the International Snowmobile Congress, held June 10-13 in Keystone, Colorado.
The International Snowmobile Congress is the preeminent snowmobile event of the year, featuring over 20 workshops covering an incredibly wide variety of topics, including Tourism; Connecting with Generations X,Y and Z; The Evolution of Snowmobiling; Grooming Equipment Maintenance; Membership Management; OHV Impacts on Snowmobile Trails; Land Access; Avalanche Safety; Independent Women Riding; and much more.
In addition to the workshops, there were meetings of the American Council of Snowmobile Associations (ACSA) and the Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations (CCSO), a fun off-site event at Soda Ridge Stables, an awards banquet, groomer displays, general exhibits, evening social gatherings and lots of fun.
The conference is also a forum where snowmobile leaders and administrators from the U.S., Canada, Sweden, and Russia meet, share ideas and move the snowmobile recreational agenda forward.
Next year, the ISC will be hosted by the New York State Snowmobile Association, and held in Niagara Falls, New York on June 10-13, 2015.
