THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Coleman Legion Auxiliary Invitation for Members
Issue Date: July 10, 2014
The Coleman American Legion Auxiliary Post 280 invites area women to join the organization. They support veterans who have served during times of war. Founded in 1919 during the first National convention of the American Legion, the auxiliary has grown to be the largest womens patriotic service organization in the world.
The auxiliary includes wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers and great-grandmothers of veterans.
Through the auxiliary veterans are helped in VA hospitals and veterans homes. The group awards scholarships to local high school as well as programs that support military families. The sale of handmade poppies exclusively benefits veterans. They support the Badger Girls State by sending local young women to attend the week long annual event. The women provide patriotism and are responsible citizenship.
In addition to what the auxiliary does for veterans, there are member discounts and savings for members.
Coleman Auxiliary meets at the American Legion Hall every first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. A business meeting is held and a meal served. Dues for a year are $20.
